On June 17, Fred Barton makes his Sydney Opera House debut, in the form of his orchestrations for Broadway and television star Megan Hilty, who's appearing with a 40-piece orchestra. Ms. Hilty follows up on June 20 with a repeat concert at the Queensland Performing Arts Center in Brisbane, accompanied by the acclaimed Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra
Megan has sung her Fred Barton arrangements at Carnegie Hall and with symphony orchestras around the world and on national TV.
In addition to songs from WICKED and SMASH and others, Megan and Fred’s version of "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" builds up each successive chorus with increasing effects and sounds, from sax solos to Fred’s signature smashes, with the main song bringing down the house, the encore shaking the house to the foundations, and the shattering second encore bringing down whatever was left of the house to the last timber.
As always, Fred Barton is a big fan of house-bringer-downering, and great performers like Megan Hilty who know how to do it.
