Spamilton: An American Parody
Fred Barton is the Musical Supervisor of SPAMILTON, the hit musical take-off on HAMILTON
He served as Arranger, Vocal Arranger, Pianist, Performer, and Musical Director of the long-run Off-Broadway production, the CD for DRG Records. Fred subsequently arranged and music-directed the Chicago, Los Angeles, and London companies, and currently supervises the National Tour, booked into 2020. The Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera production is in preparation for a May 2019 opening.
SPAMILTON marks the reunion of Fred and writer-lyricist Gerard Alessandrini, who collaborated on the original FORBIDDEN BROADWAY in 1981 – a show that ran for over 27 years Off-Broadway, topping its countless awards with a Special Tony Award.
